Academic advisors within the Academic Advising Department assist current Bellevue College students to enroll in and complete 100 or 200-level prerequisite courses, a certificate, a professional/technical associate’s degree, or an associate’s degree for university transfer (transfer associate). Current students have completed the entry processes outlined in the New Student Checklist, the required virtual Canvas New Student Orientation (NSO), and an in-person or virtual New Student Enrollment (NSE) session. All new to Bellevue College associate degree or certificate completing students must complete BOTH the NSO and NSE before they are permitted to register for classes.
Advising in the department is based on your self-selected BC pathway. BC Pathways was modeled after the national Guided Pathways framework focused on helping students choose and align their academic and career goals, create an education plan to align with those goals and offer support and resources to aid student success. To learn more about BC Pathways, please visit the BC Pathways website.
APPOINTMENT SCHEDULING INSTRUCTIONS: The Academic Advising Department uses Microsoft (MS) Bookings for student appointment scheduling. Students must be logged into the Bookings system using the same email and password (NETID) as their Bellevue College email. As you are scheduling your appointment, please keep in mind:
Advisor Availability: Advisor calendars show availability for up to 14 days (two weeks) in advance. If you do not see an appointment that meets your scheduling needs or it appears that an advisor does not have availability, please check back after midnight/early morning. The Bookings system refreshes overnight with new availability.
Scheduling Modality: In most cases, advisors offer in-person and virtual (phone or video) scheduling accessibility over a 30-minute appointment slot. Virtual video appointments take place using Microsoft (MS) Teams.
Confirmation of Appointment: The email address students input under the “Add Your Details” section of the selected advisor’s MS Bookings page will be the email that receives the appointment confirmation. The email must be free of typos and listed correctly for receipt of confirmation. For virtual appointments, MS Bookings sends an email confirmation with a clickable “Join your appointment” button to join the appointment at your scheduled date/time, along with an calendar invitation attachment that contains the link. Either the button or the link will work to access your appointment. For in-person appointments, MS Bookings sends an email confirmation with the meeting location, along with a calendar invitation attachment to add the appointment to your calendar.
Prospective/Future Students: Thank you for your interest in scheduling an appointment with the Academic Advising Department. Since you are not yet a Bellevue College current student, you will be unable to schedule an appointment with the Academic Advising Department. Please visit the Welcome Center Admission Assistance page for information on how to get started at Bellevue College. The Admission Assistance page will provide information about Drop-in Advising specific to prospective/future Bellevue College students and virtual and in-person appointment scheduling to meet with an Admissions Navigator. Once you are a current student and have completed entry processes, you will then be advised by the Academic Advising Department and/or another Bellevue College on campus advising unit.
